The Foundation for Firelands supports patients and their families batteling cancer diagnoses in the following ways.
Cancer program tribute wall
You can honor a loved one and support the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at Firelands Regional Medical Center with a donation of $100 or more. Both your name and that of the person you are honoring will be added to the Tribute Wall located in the lobby of the cancer center. The Tribute Wall also displays an original painting, Distant Shore, by Ohio artist and cancer survivor Kathleen Whitmer, as a symbol of hope for our patients and families.
Cancer program fund
The Foundation for Firelands Cancer Program Fund provides services and amenities to patients undergoing cancer treatment and care at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Your donations to this fund help underinsured and uninsured patients receive the care they need, allowing them to concentrate on their health. Your gifts lessen the financial burden and stress of the mounting medical bills that come with a diagnosis of cancer. Gifts to the Foundation for Firelands Cancer Program Fund provide medications, various therapies, transportation and nutrition assistance to cancer patients in need. The fund also offers counseling and support for patients and families.
Mammogram and breast cancer fund
The Foundation for Firelands Mammogram and Breast Cancer Fund provids mammograms to area underinsured and uninsured women and men. This fund helps patients who cannot afford preventive screenings and diagnostic tests because of their insurance status. Your donation will also help patients undergoing breast cancer treatment by providing funding for medications, nutritional needs and transportation to doctor's appointments. Surgical patients are given a post-mastectomy camisole and an informational book on surviving breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio
The Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio is an organization worthy of your support: Since 2008, the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio has awarded $1,270,602 to Ohio cancer care providers and cancer organizations for programs providing supportive assistance to breast cancer patients. Learn More
